Jillian grew up a fisherman’s daughter, in a small town on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington state. She grew up sailing on the Puget Sound and playing in farm pastures.
She left at 18 for a music scholarship in Honolulu and lived a bit like a gypsy after graduating. A stint in Southern California led to a move to the East Village of NYC. From there, it was Brooklyn, where her love for jewelry, design and entrepreneurship was fueled on a daily basis.
During that time she found and married a native New Yorker. They may come from opposite universes, but she found a beautiful, like-minded soul in her husband and life partner, Tim. Together they have settled in the seaside oasis of Cardiff By the Sea in Southern California.
They run Marrow together playing on each other’s strengths. Jillian is at the creative helm, while Tim is right at home running the backend of the business.
They feel a series of happy accidents and divine timing has led to the birth of Marrow. The stories behind what the jewelry means to their clients or the custom pieces is the ultimate thrill and what makes them excited to come to the studio each day.
Most afternoons you can find them at the beach with their two little girls or planning their next getaway. They hope to share with their daughters a taste of wanderlust and the importance of hard work, kindness and following your heart.
