In 2021 the Trunk Show Team took to the skies and made it their personal mission to meet with as many of our babes as possible! Our girls trekked to 28 different cities for FORTY FIVE trunk shows. After hundreds of meetings, thousands of miles in the air, and almost perfecting the art of packing lightly (uh under 50lbs)… we’ve narrowed down our favorite wanna be home away from homes. Here are the Top 5 Hotels from 2021 and an honorable mention we were pressed to leave off the list.
There’s something magical about the Bowery Hotel. This boutique property combines the old world with the new while making you feel a part of something special. From the delightfully tasseled room keys and plush velvet fabrics, to the worn leather seating and antique brass fixtures, every detail feels perfectly plucked from the past. Truly a treat in the heart of the East Village. If you’re in the area, highly recommend grabbing a bite or drink from their Italian Trattoria, Gemma Ristorante. Sound familiar? That’s a story for another day…
Right in the heart of Downtown and steps from the Boston Commons, it just took one glimpse of the monumental view to set this hotel at the top of our list. Two words: Golden Dome. The Kimpton Nine Zero pays homage to the town’s history without being overly cheesy. It’s a national treasure. In our down time we made the most of the properties' prime location! We were just feet from the Freedom Trail, a few miles to Fenway Park, and you know the infamous Newbury Street was just screaming our name.
With glistening gold accents, handsome herringbone floors, and feel good fabrics, the Pendry Chicago understood the Art Deco assignment. In the old Carbide & Carbon Building, which was built in 1921, the design team brought the amenities to the 21st century with in-room record players, a Peloton, and Instagrammable spots galore. Plus, you can imagine with 37 stories, it’s hard not to find a fabulous view! Step out onto Michigan Avenue and you're just blocks from The Bean at Millennium Park, the Chicago Riverwalk, and the Magnificent Mile.
Looking for the perfect trunk show spot in DC was a bad comb over in the wind type of doozy, until we discovered The Lyle in Dupont Circle. This boutique hotel is another Art Deco abode that had us dreaming about burlwood and marble busts. Come on Target… Tucked in between historic homes and an array or restaurants from every culture, the Lyle DC is truly a gem. We were just a quick uber from the monuments and a hop and a skip to an extra dirty martini at Le Diplomate.
The Graduate Nashville was a spiritual experience in all things country opulence that we didn’t know we needed… but we are thankful! An ode to the one and only Dolly Parton, the property’s decor is a cluster of mixed prints, texture and custom furniture fit for the queen herself. Just minutes from the historic honky tonks of Broadway, the Graduate Nashville makes for a legendary girls trip filled with rich southern food, picture perfect backdrops and did we mention the sparkly champagne jello-shots?
We couldn’t close out our fave stays of 2021 without mentioning this historic landmark in Atlanta. Built in 1924, the Hotel Clermont was almost demolished in 2013 but was actually saved thanks to it’s slightly nefarious past. Restoring the property with a bourbon-forward, peacock themed bar and bohemian library-like lounge, it’s hard to imagine that the grand terrazzo stairwell was almost torn down. Whether you stay the night or just hangout at the rooftop bar, we recommend glancing at Tiny Lou’s dessert menu.
